Are Husqvarna Snow Blowers still a good buy?

I'm looking to get a walk-behind snow blower for clearing around my buildings and paths—something to back up my JD 4010 in case it goes down. The Husqvarna 300 series caught my eye since they seem solid and my Husqvarna chainsaws have been great. Early reviews were positive, but recent ones seem mixed. Did the quality drop over time, or is it just bias toward Ariens and Honda? Ariens would cost me about $1,000 more, so I'd love to hear from current or past Husqvarna owners—would you buy one again?

Some of that might be brand loyalty skewing things, but there's truth to the Ariens/Honda advantage in long term toughness, a well maintained Husqvarna can still be a good value, just know it might need more attention over time

@Ed.lonan pretty much summed it all up. If you are fine with a little extra maintenance, a Husqvarna can still serve you well without dropping the extra grand.

Good point, brand loyalty definitely plays a role. Do you know if there are specific parts or components on the Husqvarna snow blowers that tend to need more frequent maintenance or replacement compared to Ariens or Honda? That way i can keep an eye on them early.

Husqvarna walk-behinds are overrated now, quality definitely slipped. People worship the brand because of chainsaws, but for heavy snow, you're better off paying extra for Ariens. Don't risk disappointment on a backup.
